Final Thoughts & Conclusion
Like the other Gigabyte, RTX Super cards we have reviewed, the RTX 2070 Super Gaming OC performed extremely well at stock clocks and even had some room for overclocking. At stock speed we found the Gaming OC about 7-10% faster than its predecessor, the RTX 2070 and in one of our benchmarks it bested the other RTX 2070 Supers we have tested. If you are looking for even more performance, you can overclock the Gaming OC with ease, and we were able to unlock an additional 8% performance.
Not only did the Gaming OC perform great in our benchmarks, it stayed cool doing it. I’m a big fan of Gigabyte Windforce 3X cooler which does an excellent job cooling the card and is also whisper quiet. Running in its default configuration, the Gaming OC only hit a maximum temperature of 64C with fans only spinning at 42%. This was quite impressive and with the fan only kicking in after 60C makes for nice quiet gaming sessions.
In the looks department, the Gaming OC also didn’t disappoint with its neutral black/silver finish and subtle splash of RGB. Being that the card is color neutral, the Gaming OC will have no probably matching most builds regardless of theme. For people who like a little pop in your build, the backlit “GIGABYTE” on the Gaming OC adds just enough RGB lighting to make the card stand out.
So, if you find yourself searching for a 1080/1440p GPU that performs well, looks great, and stays cool, definitely check out the Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Gaming OC.
Excellent job, Gigabyte!
