With such a wide range of GPUs on the market today, it can be hard to make an educated choice on what GPU is right for you. Sure, the higher-end cards get plenty of coverage. So, we put the ASUS GTX 1060 OC to the test. Can it handle newer titles, at higher resolutions, or will this card be stuck running 1080p? Let’s see how it did.

The Trident Z RGB offers the same brushed black aluminum finish on one side with the gunmetal gray brushed black aluminum finish on the other as the original Trident Z did, however G.Skill added a something special. That something special is a RGB lit bar running along the top of each module. The RGB lighting is controllable via G.Skill’s own software or with Asus’s Aura software.

With a few different 1080 Ti SKUs, GIGABYTE has offerings from the Founders Edition card, up to their flagship AORUS GTX 1080 Ti XTREME Edition. In this review, we’ll be looking at the XTREME Edition and seeing how it compares to the AORUS GTX 1080 Ti Standard Edition. So, let’s get into the review.
The new X299 platform brings a number of new features and enhancements over the previous X99 platform. First and foremost is the ability to utilize the new Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X 4-18 core X series processors via the new LGA 2066 socket. There’s added support for Intel Optane technology with Rapid Storage, faster throughput times thanks to DMI 3.0. 30 I/O lanes with support for up to 24 PCIe lanes, eight SATA 3.0 ports, and 10 USB 3.0 ports. Overall it’s a nice step up from the X99 chipset.
